The most common equipment repairs include pool pump repairs, filter repairs and chlorinator repairs. To ensure a speedy turnaround for our customers, our store is equipped with a workshop for testing and repairing the most common issues and brands of pumps, chlorinators, and automatic pool cleaners.
Simply bring the equipment to our Hornsby Pool Shop. For simple repairs, we will give you a quote on the spot. For more extensive repairs, we will supply you with a free quote.
If you are unable to bring the equipment to us, one of our pool technicians can come to your premises to remove the equipment and bring it to our workshop for the cost of a service call.
Filter Media Changes, also known more commonly as Sand Changes are recommended every 5-7 years to keep the sand filter running to its optimal efficiency and reduce your chemical costs. Overtime, the sand within your filter will reduce its efficiency as algae, bugs and other materials pass through it and get caught. In addition to this, the constant water running through it smooths the texture of the sand, making it less effective at filtering.
If you are finding that your pool is getting cloudier more often, or you are having to increase the number of chemical treatments to your pool, it may be time for a filter media change.
If the customer would prefer, Tongarra Pools can always change to your media filter to a glass filter media instead of sand. We can also perform a degrease service of the filter media. A degrease filter media service involves pouring chemicals into the filter media, agitating it and letting the chemicals sit for 24 hours, then returning to reassemble and backwash the filter. This process helps to release a number of the built-up particles within the media.
Tongarra Pools carry the most common brands of replacement filter cartridges and can come to your home and replace the filter cartridges for you.
If you are not sure if your pool needs a filter media change, contact us for helpful information on determining when you should get it changed.
